# Aqara U400 Smart Lock Analysis **Selling Point:** The Aqara U400 offers premium hands-free UWB unlocking technology with Matter/Thread compatibility at its standard price point, making it a solid choice for Apple ecosystem users seeking convenience and future-proof smart home integration. **Trade-offs:** You'll need compatible Apple hardware (Thread hub, Apple Watch Series 6+, or iPhone 11+) for full functionality, and there's no discount available here—you're paying full retail. The hands-free feature, while convenient, may raise security concerns for some users. **Verdict:** Buy if you're already invested in Apple's ecosystem and want seamless smart lock integration; Pass if you lack the required hardware or prefer traditional unlock methods with discounted pricing.
